RESEARCH METHODOLOGY:

3.1 INTRODUCTION

Methodology is a description of the procedure employed in order to achieve the objective of the study. In this section, researchers try to translate all the raw data into scientific term. This section includes research design, sample type and sampling of the data, measurement tools and variable. Sampling is the process of selecting a sample from population. It may be selected in a variety ways and it should be the representative of the population. The example is simple random sampling, systematic sampling, stratified and cluster.

3.2 RESEARCH INSTRUMENT
This research utilized the quantitative research methodology. The instruments used to collect the data were questionnaire. A set of questionnaire containing 20 questions divided 3 sections. Different question types have been highlighted such as multiple choices, likert-scale and open ended questions. The different sections of the questionnaire are demographic sections (gender) and the effect of increasing of oil prices towards UiTM Malacca City Campus‘s students.

3.3 RESEARCH PROCEDURE
Before the actual data collection period, a study was conducted to access the validity of the research instrument. A total of 50 respondents were involves in the study chosen at random at UiTM Malacca City Campus. During the actual study, the questionnaires were distributed at the class and the library. Respondents were approaches with an initial question of whether they own a vehicle before the questionnaire was given to them.

3.4 ANALYSIS OF DATA
This research emphasize on the effects of increasing oil price towards UiTM’s student at UiTM Malacca City Campus respondents. They are consisting of Malay and the researchers have distributed 50 return questionnaires to 50 respondents in that campus. After distributing the questionnaire, the researcher will collects back the entire questionnaire from the respondents at that day. This is because the researchers have value the answers in the forms of number. After receive all the answer, the researcher start to analyze all the data receives.

3.4.1 DATA SORTING
For the first step, in order to analyze data receive is data sorting. In data sorting, the researcher had organized the data into 3 sections which is Section A, Section B and Section C. For the Section A, the researchers are more focus into the personal information of the respondents. For example, in the Section A the researcher inquire the respondents about gender, whether they have their own vehicle, whether the respondents know about the increasing of oil price, from where they get information and what types of vehicle that they owns. Meanwhile, for the Section B researchers are asking the likert-scale question such as they must use the choice for example strongly agree, agree, strongly disagree and disagree. The structured questions was prepared and given to a sample of population and is design to get specific and accurate information from selected respondents. In this research there are 3 type of question are been used in order to design the structured questions. For example, there are 2 open ended question.

3.4.2 DATA ENTERING
After completing the first step, the researcher will go for next step which is data entering. In this step, the researchers enter all data that get into computer. Researcher will use SPSS version 12 program to entering the data. The researcher choose the SPSS version 12 program because it is easy to key in all the data and it is also suitable for quantitative data that have been used. The researcher key in the data, from Section A and Section B. For instance the questions for Section B are about the effects of increasing oil price to the respondents. The researchers have classified all the answer based on ordinary level measurement. So, the researchers enter the answer that given by the respondents which are strongly agree, agree, strongly disagree and disagree.

3.4.3 DATA TESTING
Once the data is ready for analysis, the researchers are ready to test the hypothesis that already developed for the study. The researchers examine the result of the analysis of data obtained from the research title and how all the data are interpreted.

3.4.4 DATA PRESENTING
For the data presenting, the researcher used table bar chat and pie chart to illustrate the data. For example, by using bar chat firstly the researcher key in all the data that obtained in the table. The data are divided into 2 sections which is Section A and Section B. Then, the SPSS software version 12 presents all the result of data in table, bar chart and pie chart.
